Happy belated birthday, Heitor!

WOW!

More than o month flew by, without me blogging a single line, about my project! I even missed Heitors birthday along the way, even though it would have been an exellent opportunity, to write something clever and insightful...

But the thing is - I have not been lying on the couch all this time (apart from a week with the flu, but that's best left forgotten). I have in fact been practising hard, like a good lad, on a program for an upcoming chrich recital, where I was explicitly asked NOT to do a pure Lobos-programme. I did put the 5 preludes on the programme, as they work well with the other pieces, but still there was quite a bit of work to be done, dusting off old pieces, that I haven't played for years. Between you, me, and the rest of the internet, it has been quite nice, to lift my gaze, and look at other composers for a while - rediscovering old war horses, that used to be on my repertoire, but some of which, for one reason or another, have been left out in the cold for several years.

The programme for the recital, which is next Sunday, is Latin American and Spanish Music, and especially one of the pieces, is one, that has spent a LONG time on the shelf. The last time I played it seriously, was for my audition for the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music, 15 years ago. It has been absolutely delightful to rediscover this piece, and to learn, that some of the things that were almost beyond my capacity then, have become easier with age and experience! Since shooting this video, I have filed off a few more of the edges, but a video, there must be, on this blog post; enjoy!
